Mr. Alan Joseph Joyce ensures that team members work well with other individuals, so that they can maintain effective and dynamic communication with employees. Furthermore, they are responsible to build and develop strong team in an organization. The leaders delegate and exercise authorities and responsibilities to the employees to meet long-term mission and vision of the firm. Now it is assumed that Mr. Alan Joseph Joyce uses democratic leadership style to prevent and eliminate these challenges and issues. The democratic leadership style is also known as participative and shared leadership style (Weinberger, 2009). The team members play a participative role in the decision making process. Furthermore, Qantas is an airline industry that needs to be focused on the globalization and innovative technologies. This can be possible by using democratic leadership style in the organi zation. It is quite opposite of autocratic leadership style. The autocratic leader like Mr. Bradford Leon Branducci does not provide rights and authorities to the employees while Alan Joseph Joyce includes team members to make effective and unique decisions in the company. In addition, autocratic leader maintains a high level of control whereas democratic leader maintains low level of control. The autocratic leadership is suitable for unskilled and obedient leaders while democratic leadership style is appropriate for experienced and qualified workers. In this way, both leadership styles are used by both the leaders to conduct operations and activities of the firm. Mr. Alan Joseph Joyce uses behavioral theory to maintain a good relationship with employees. The behavioral theory may be defined as a systematic approach to understand and evaluate the behavior of humans and others. The leaders determine the behavior of people by implementing and initiating behavioral theory in the organi zation. In this way, both the leaders determine and evaluate success and growth of the firm by using leadership practices and strategies in an organization (Bass Bass, 2009). The leadership styles also help to make strong goodwill and image in the competitive market. On the above-mentioned study, it is concluded that all types of leadership styles have their own attributes and aspects in order to determine the progress and success of the firm. A comparison of leadership styles has been shown in the task that has been adopted by Mr. Bradford Leon Branducci and Alan Joseph Joyce. Mr. Bradford Leon Branducci uses autocratic leadership style whereas Mr. Alan Joseph Joyce uses democratic leadership style to gain success in the business. The different leadership styles are used by both the leaders to overcome and reduce the several challenges such as globalization, climate changes, and resource scarcity. Both the leaders attain competence and potential in the global market by using effective leadership styles. Now it recommended that Mr. Bradford Leon Branducci uses autocratic leadership style so he should protect the rights and interest of the employees. He should not harm the rights and interest of employees in the firm. They should focus on the needs, requirements, and desires of the leaders. Along with this, they should maintain strict control on the operations and activities of the organization. In this way, the leader can enhance and improve efficiency and effectiveness of the workers. On the other hand, Mr. Alan Joseph Joyce uses democratic leadership style to initiate and implement the activities of the business. Thus, he should focus on the social activities to promote and enhance the trading activities of the Qantas. It helps to overcome and reduce the environmental challenges of the firm.
